ST. FRANCISVILLE — National Weather Service meteorologists will conduct a storm spotter training program open to the public at 6:30 p.m. April 30, West Feliciana Parish Emergency Management Director Tommy Boyett said.
The class will be held at the West Feliciana Parish Emergency Operations Center, 9938 West Feliciana Parkway.
Anyone interested in enrolling in the class may contact Boyett at (225) 635-6428 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The National Weather Service’s Skywarn program is a volunteer effort with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters assisting meteorologists and emergency management agencies to assist in delivering timely severe weather warnings, Boyett said.
Boyett said the class lasts about two hours and covers a variety of severe weather and tornado topics.
