City of Zachary adds online payment option

ZACHARY — City of Zachary utility customers now have the option of paying bills online with debit or credit cards, Mayor David Amrhein said.

An “online bill payment” link on the city’s website, http://www.cityofzachary.org, allows customers to log in to a secure site for entering credit or debit card information, Amrhein said in a news release.

Payments will be posted to customers’ accounts within 48 hours. A 3 percent surcharge is added to the payment to cover the city’s costs, the release says.

Customers also may pay in person with credit or debit cards at the city’s utility office, 4650 Main St., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A computer also will be set up in the office for customers who want to pay online.
