Fire destroys car, damages another
A fire in Baker early Sunday destroyed a car, damaged another and caused $100,000 in damage before being brought under control, the Baker Fire Department said.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which started about 2:15 a.m. Sunday at 3600 Harding St., Fire Department spokesman Howard Ward said in a news release.
After starting in a shed, which housed the car that was destroyed, the fire spread to a carport, where the second car was damaged, Ward said. When firefighters arrived, the fire had started to spread to the residence, Ward said.
The fire also spread to a wooden fence and damaged a second shed on a neighbor’s property, he said.
The Red Cross was called to help two adults and five children, the release says.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, Ward said.
