Watson man killed in Zachary motorcycle crash
ZACHARY — A Watson man was killed and another person injured Saturday when their motorcycle struck the rear of another vehicle on Main Street, Police Chief David McDavid said.
The driver of the motorcycle, Jerry Fugler, 51, of 35992 Bend Road, was pronounced dead on arrival at Lane Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room after the 11 a.m. accident in the 5300 block of Main Street, McDavid said.
Fugler’s passenger, whose name was not released, was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with head injuries, but McDavid said she was reported in stable condition Saturday afternoon.
The motorcycle struck the rear of a small-size sport utility vehicle. The driver of the SUV was not injured, McDavid said.
The police chief said alcohol use is not believed to be a factor in the crash, but the investigation is continuing.
