5 arrested in Zachary on narcotics charges

ZACHARY — Officers with the Delta Narcotics Task Force arrested five people and seized several types of drugs during a raid Thursday night at a house across from the Zachary High School campus, Police Chief David McDavid said.

The officers seized approximately one ounce of marijuana packaged for sale, six codeine tablets, a half-ounce of liquid codeine, a digital scale and $233 in cash after searching the residence at 4848 Rollins Road, McDavid said.

“You cross the street, and you’re on high school property,” McDavid said.

Shawndrika White, 28, who lives at the residence, and Datrell Johnson, 24, 4629 Avenue C, Zachary, were booked at Parish Prison with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of codeine syrup and pills and possession of drugs in a drug-free zone, McDavid said.

Officers also booked Kalisha Armstrong, 22, 4702 Lave Lane, Lot 23, Baker; Nicholas Hopkins, 20, and Bobby Hopkins Jr., 33, both of 3264 Old Baker Road, Zachary, were booked at Parish Prison with possession of marijuana, the police chief said.
