Group’s traffic stops net 2 on drug counts

ST. FRANCISVILLE — Officers with the Delta Drug Task Force arrested two drivers on drug counts Thursday night during a highway drug interdiction campaign.

West Feliciana Parish sheriff’s Maj. Archer Lee said Eric W. Orlando, 43, 28 Brigantine Circle, Plymouth, Mass., was booked with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of oxymorphone, a prescription painkiller.

Orlando told the arresting officers he recently moved to the area, Lee said.

Officers also booked George Clifton Bernard, 33, 612 Martin Drive, New Roads, with possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession of crack cocaine, possession of hydrocodone and possession of a prescription drug not in its original container.
