Gov. Bobby Jindal announced the appointment on Sept. 20. The Pontchartrain Levee Board is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and the levee drainage systems within East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension, St. James, St. John the Baptist, and St. Charles Parishes, a news release from the Governor’s office says. Bell, of Gonzales, is a court bailiff for the 23rd Judicial Court.
