Sep 12, 2013 16:22 Six arrested on drug counts in Ascension Six arrested on drug counts in Ascension River Parishes bureau Sept. 12, 2013 Comments PRAIRIEVILLE — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested six people and seized illegal drugs and a 12-gauge shotgun after a monthlong probe into alleged drug activity at a Liz Road home. The narcotics investigation led to a traffic stop Tuesday involving one of the home’s occupants, Melana Vu, 21, 15336 Liz Road, Prairieville, about a block from the home, deputies said in a news release Wednesday. Deputies found heroin and drug paraphernalia in the car and arrested Vu and her passenger, Patrick Morrison, 24, also of 15336 Liz Road, Prairieville. A subsequent search of the home turned up more illegal drugs, psilocybin mushrooms and the shotgun and led to the arrests of two more residents, Charles “Ricky” Webb, 20, and Kendall Eppes, 18, deputies said. Webb and Vu’s two children were in the home during the search and given to a family member, deputies said. Webb, Vu, Eppes, Morrison and a fifth Liz Road resident, Crystal Berthelot, 22, were each arrested and booked Wednesday with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of person younger than 17 along with other counts, deputies said. Webb’s and Vu’s arrests will be reported to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, deputies said. Webb was also booked with counts of possession of psilocbin, heroin, Vyvanse, Xanax, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a legend drug. Eppes was also booked on counts of possession of marijuana, heroin, Adderall, drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and illegal carrying of a weapon, deputies said. Morrison was also booked with counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and two counts of failing to appear in court, deputies said. Vu was also booked with counts of possession of Psilocbin, heroin, Vyvanse, Xanax, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a legend drug and possession of Clindamycin, deputies said. Berthelot was arrested at her place of work Tuesday at a Gonzales-area restaurant, deputies said. She was also booked Wednesday on counts of possession of marijuana, heroin, Adderall, drug paraphernalia and contempt of court, deputies said. During the search of the Liz Road home Tuesday, Lawrence Richards, 39, 14290 Parkview Drive, Prairieville, pulled up in the driveway and was arrested on a warrant for possession of hydrocodone, deputies said. All six were awaiting bail Wednesday in Ascension Parish Prison near Donaldsonville, deputies said.
