GONZALES — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies made three arrests this week after an investigation into alleged drug distribution at an apartment complex on La. 621 in Gonzales.
Investigators determined that three roommates in the complex allegedly were distributing drugs, sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said in a news release Thursday.
Detectives searched the apartment, discovered a methamphetamine lab and seized methamphetamine, marijuana and a variety of prescription pills, Bacala said.
Charles Hopp, 32; Brittney Carlson, 23; and Vanessa Via, 25, all of 39366 La. 621, Apt. 1, Gonzales, were arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, creation of a clandestine lab and possession of marijuana, Hydrocodone, Xanax, Clonazepam, Soma and drug paraphernalia.
Hopp also was booked with resisting an officer, while both he and Via were booked on counts of failure to appear in court.
District Judge Guy Holdridge set bail at $75,635 for Hopp, $70,342 for Carlson, and $65,000 for Via. The three remained incarcerated at the jail on Thursday.
