Ascension Parish Environmental Manager Don Hysell said residents dropped off about 4.2 tons of recyclable materials in January; 3.1 tons in February; 3.2 tons in March; and 3.2 tons in April. Hysell said residents in 156 cars showed up for the April 6 event. He said volunteers assisted the residents with loading of materials into the truck for recycling. “We have a dedicated group of volunteers who believe in the importance of taking care of the environment and keeping Ascension clean and green,” Hysell said. “Their help is invaluable.” The next Recycling Road Show is scheduled for May 4.
