Gonzales Garden Club Youth Development Chairwoman and Louisiana Master Gardener Marilyn Rice assisted Girl Scouts with Troop 10040 in planting a Savannah Holly on the grounds of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Curt Rice helped with the planting.

The Gonzales Garden Club sponsored the tree in conjunction with a course Marilyn Rice taught the Scouts at the church this winter.

The girls each obtained the National Garden Club patch, “Nurture the Earth — Plant Natives.”
