Assumption sheriff’s deputies arrest man, seize kilo of cocaine

A Napoleonville man was arrested earlier this week after Assumption Parish narcotics agents allegedly discovered more than a kilo of cocaine in his possession.

Larry Woods, 54, 307A La. 400, Napoleonville, was arrested during a traffic stop on La. 1 near Napoleonville on Monday when agents found 1,014 grams, or 2.2 pounds, of cocaine in the vehicle he was driving, Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release.

Woods was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He remained in custody in lieu of $200,000 bond, Waguespack said.
