Up for grabs will be 1,500 treat-filled plastic eggs on the lawn in front of the clinic, 3200 S. Burnside Ave., Gonzales. For a $10 donation, which will be made to the Ascension Parish Animal Shelter, owners can take part in the egg hunt, Laura Glucksman said. Registration and activities start at 1 p.m. and the egg hunt is at 3 p.m. Pets can pose for photos with the Easter Bunny and enter a dog costume contest. Call (225) 647-7297. Oak Grove park egg hunt Community volunteer Gwendolyn Hilliard is planning Easter in the Park on Saturday at Oak Grove Park in Prairieville. Easter Egg Fest planned The Ascension Recreation and Culture Department’s Second annual Donaldsonville Community Easter Egg Fest starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Frank Sotile Pavilion, 610 D. Plant sale Saturday Members of the St. Amant High School Agriscience Department will hold their annual spring bedding plant sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the school’s greenhouse. Drums, guards compete Dutchtown High School’s Fourth annual Griffin Indoor Classic starts at 10 a.m. Saturday in the school gymnasium on La. 73 in Geismar. Organizers say 48 percussion and color guard high school and college units are expected to compete. Admission is $7 and ages 5 and younger or 65 and older get in free. Representatives to speak Registration is under way for a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Cabela’s, hosted by state Reps. Ed Price, D-Gonzales; Johnny Berthelot, R-Gonzales; and Clay Schexnayder, R-Sorrento. Parish offices set hours All Ascension Parish governmental offices and departments will be closed March 29 in observance of Good Friday. Departments will operate on alternate schedules Monday through Thursday. The parish president’s office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the week.
