Golf tourney to raise funds for baseball team Golf tourney to raise funds for baseball team Advocate staff report March 21, 2013 Comments The Ascension Sun Devils 10-year-old and younger Pitchforks baseball team will host a golf tournament to raise funds to help with the cost of their attendance at the United States Specialty Sports Association World Series held in July in Dallas. A 9 a.m. shotgun start April 13 will kick off the first Pitchfork Classic Golf Tournament on the Lakes course at Pelican Point Golf and Country Club in Gonzales. The entry fee for the four-man scramble is $100 per person, which includes cart, green fees, range balls and lunch. There will be prizes for first and second place, longest drive, closest to the hole and drawings for door prizes. The team is also seeking sponsors and local businesses to provide prizes and monetary donations for the tournament.
