Prairieville road closing for bridge replacement project Prairieville road closing for bridge replacement project River Parishes bureau Feb. 27, 2013 Comments PRAIRIEVILLE — A small road in northern Ascension Parish will be closed starting Monday for a bridge replacement project. David Drive, which is located north of La. 42 and east of La. 73 in Prairieville, will be closed to traffic for about four months, Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez announced in a news release Wednesday. The bridge is located some 1,400 feet west of the intersection with Manchac Acres Road. Crews from the Ascension Parish Department of Public Works and East Ascension Gravity Drainage District No. 1 will replace the bridge with three box culverts 10 feet by 7 feet. David Drive is accessible by Manchac Acres Road on the east side of the construction site and Van Broussard Road on the west side of the site. Without weather delays, officials estimate, David Drive will reopen about July 22.
