Donaldsonville man arrested in dispute with girlfriend

DONALDSONVILLE — A Donaldsonville man being sought by Ascension Parish authorities following a dispute with his girlfriend was arrested Tuesday night.
Romel Julien, 27, of 123 Palm Drive, Donaldsonville, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Tuesday on one count each of unauthorized entry of a dwelling, domestic abuse battery and felon in possession of a firearm, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala announced in a news release.
Julien was wanted after allegedly attacking his girlfriend at her residence. While she called 911, he allegedly hid an AK-47 in a neighbor’s shed and fled the scene, Bacala had said. Deputies later found the rifle in the shed.
