Advocate staff report Nov. 29, 2012 Comments The Gonzales Garden Club met on Nov. 14 at the home of Mary Ann Francinques, where Club President Janis Poche demonstrated how to use garden flora and vegetables in arrangements. The group ate lunch and welcomed its newest member, Mary Jo Pohlig. Yard of the Month awards were presented to the dental office of Brown, Kogler & Rome, 306 S. Burnside Ave., and to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Poche, 2205 S. Woodlawn Ave. Ellen Richmond brought in floral arrangements for critique, while Lorraine Gautreau brought in an arrangement of daisy mums and ginger. The group also held a work therapy workshop at the Magnolia Assisted Living center. November’s hostesses were Barbara Guillot, Mary Ann Francinques, Loretta Ramirez and Jamie Trisler.
