2 women sought in Gonzales credit card theft

Police searched Wednesday for two women suspected of using a stolen credit card to buy mattresses and a television in Gonzales.

A St. Elizabeth Hospital employee reported a credit card was stolen from her purse on Sept. 4, Gonzales police Sgt. Steven Nethken said in a news release.

The same card was used later to buy two air mattresses and a 50-inch television from the Kmart store in Gonzales, he said.

Two women were caught on Kmart video surveillance cameras using the card to make the purchases.
