Ascension residents reappointed to board
Two Ascension Parish residents have been reappointed to the Capital Area Human Service District board, a spokesman for Gov. Bobby Jindal said.
Rebekah “Becky” Katz, of Donaldsonville, and Christy Burnett, of Geismar, were reappointed by the governor.
Kay Andrews, of Clinton, and Gail Hurst, of New Roads, also were reappointed, a news release from the governor’s office states.
Katz is the executive director of the Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce. Burnett is the Ascension Parish assistant health unit director.
Both women will be reappointed to serve as a representative of Ascension Parish who was nominated by the parish governing authority, as required by statute, the release states.
The Capital Area Human Service District Board serves to operate and manage community-based programs and services relative to public health, mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services for Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes.
