The Community Education Department of St. Elizabeth Hospital is offering a number of health-related presentations in August.
Seats are still available for the following events:
- Loss and Grief Education and Support Meeting: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sister Vernola Conference Room. Free program. Advance registration preferred.
- Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area Caregiver Network: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sister Vernola Conference Room. Free program. Advance registration preferred.
- Thriving with Diabetes: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sister Linda Conference Room. Kathleen Baudean and Jessica Coffee with St. Elizabeth Physician will discuss “Combating Food Triggers.” Free program. Advance registration preferred.
- Look Good, Feel Better: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 13. St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sister Vernola Conference Room. Offered in conjunction with the American Cancer Society. Program helps women look their best during cancer treatment. Experienced cosmetologists teach cancer patients beauty tips to help minimize the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Advance registration required.
- Healthy Hearts: Medication Management: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22. St. Elizabeth Hospital, Sister Vernola Conference Room. Join Dr. Paul Garrett, cardiologist, Louisiana Cardiology Associates, to learn more about medications used to control risk factors for heart disease.
