Man pleads guilty to molesting girl

A Gonzales man pleaded guilty to charges of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl over nearly two years, prosecutors said.

Bronson Hill, 41, is set for sentencing Aug. 27 after a presentence investigation is finished, prosecutors with the 23rd Judicial District said in news release.

Hill faces a sentence of 25 to 99 years in prison at hard labor.

At least 25 years must be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

The judicial district encompasses Ascension, Assumption and St. James parishes.

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Bronson after responding to a complaint that he had been caught trying to have sex with the girl.

Sheriff’s investigators learned that Hill’s inappropriate behavior had been happening daily.

Hill pleaded guilty before District Judge Thomas Kliebert Jr. at the Parish Courthouse Annex in Gonzales to incidents involving the victim between Jan. 1, 2009, and Nov. 6, 2011.

Hill, who has remained in jail since his arrest, had been set for trial Tuesday.
