Dutchtown Lacrosse Club celebrates

The Dutchtown Lacrosse Club honored its players and parents with an end-of-season banquet May 6 in St. Amant.

Coach Ryan Empson and Tim Neff presented awards, including the Defensive Most Valuable Player awards to Stephen Podorsky, varsity, and Sammy Latino, junior varsity.

The Offensive MVP awards went to Dalton Bailey, varsity, and Mason Neff, junior varsity.

Jarred Hatfield won the varsity Iron Man award and junior varsity player Hunter Burns also picked up the award for his team.

Dutchtown attack men Ryan Adler and Bailey made the 2012 All District Team for the Louisiana High School Lacrosse League.

“This is a huge statement for our program to be so young and still have representation on this team,” Empson said.

The club raised $5,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project during its one-day lacrosse tournament in March, he said.

Registration for the 2013 season will begin in late August.
