Youth to compete in softball event
Aquafina’s 2012 local Pitch, Hit and Run competition will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lowery Middle School in Donaldsonville.
Saturday’s event is sponsored by Major League Baseball, local event organizer Mark Peters said.
“This event is designed to provide youngsters with the opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills,” Peters said.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions, with boys and girls competing separately, he said.
All first-place winners in each category will advance to a sectional level on May 19 in Donaldsonville.
