Stuffed animal collection
A group from the Leadership Ascension 2012 Class is teaming with Izzo’s Illegal Burrito restaurants to collect new stuffed animals for children entering the state’s foster care system.
Izzo’s is offering a “buy one get one entree free” coupon to customers who drop off new stuffed animals at any of the restaurant’s four Baton Rouge locations on Saturday. The stuffed animal drive will benefit the Brave Heart Children in Need organization.
Leadership Ascension is a program sponsored by The Ascension Chamber of Commerce to assist in preparing emerging community leaders. Brave Heart Children in Need Inc. was founded in 2004 with the goal of improving the quality of life for children who are experiencing the emotional trauma of being removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect, according to a news release from Leadership Ascension member Frances Lewis.
Patrons can drop off the stuffed animals in return for the coupon at any of Izzo’s four locations in Baton Rouge.
