  • BLOOD DRIVE: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., LSU campus, Tower Drive. The blood drive will be held close to Free Speech Plaza. (225) 578-5718.
  • ARTSFEST: 11:30 a.m., Baton Rouge Community College, 201 Community College Drive. The theme for the sixth annual event is “Community” and will feature a variety of artistic disciplines. The “Sculpture with Everyday Objects” will be in the Frazier Art Building, 555 Julia St.; a talk and performance by Brandford Marsalis with the BRCC Jazz Ensemble from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and “Blood Wedding” at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. www.mybrcc.edu.
  • “THE REAL-LIFE EXPERIENCE”: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., BREC City Park. The event is the opening night of a juried high school exhibition showcasing the work of East Baton Rouge Parish’s students. The exhibition also will spotlight the importance of arts education, celebrating both its positive effects on young people and the efforts of the educators that challenge their students.
