Molestation victim sues Broussard Police, city

A woman molested four years ago by a former Broussard Middle School resource officer is suing the city of Broussard, its police department and Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou, KATC-TV is reporting.

The woman, who filed the lawsuit this week, was a 15-year-old eighth grader at Broussard Middle in 2010 when, she asserts, she had a year-long sexual relationship with Henry Bates, then a 28-year-old resource officer.

She claims Decou was aware of complaints from other minor females who said Bates made inappropriate propositions or touched them improperly.
