LAFAYETTE — Margaret Trahan, president and CEO of United Way of Acadiana, will serve on the United Way Worldwide’s National Professional Council, the organization’s advisory body.
The council includes 48 United Way CEOs in the United States who provide leadership to the nearly 1,200 member United Way organizations and advise the United Way Worldwide president. The council also helps shape future development of the United Way system in the United States.
“The National Professional Council is a valuable leadership and advisory council to the United Way movement,” Trahan said in a news release. “I look forward to being a member of this dynamic advisory group, helping to ensure that our movement continues to meet the highest standards in performance and accountability.”
The council plays a vital role in building the United Way movement, U.S. United Way President Stacey D. Stewart said in a news release.
“The knowledge and insight of National Professional Council members is critical to achieving our mission of creating opportunity for all Americans in each and every community across America,” Stewart said.
