New online program
available for teachers

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette begins its new online master’s degree program for teachers interested in becoming instructional specialists on Aug. 26.

An instructional specialist acts as a coach or consultant advising administrators, teachers or other school personnel in the planning and implementation of educational programs.

The 36-hour program is designed for certified teachers and leads to a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an instructional specialist concentration.

Program completion also leads to certification as a Louisiana Department of Education instructional coach.
