State Police have arrested a Lafayette woman on allegations she made a child perform sex acts for money four years ago at locations throughout Lafayette Parish.

Katherine Vidrine, 37, was booked Monday evening into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on counts of trafficking of children for sexual purposes and principal to molestation of a juvenile, Trooper Stephen Hammons said.

Hammons said State Police in Lafayette received a complaint about Vidrine several weeks ago.

“As detectives’ investigation into the complaint continued, it was learned that Vidrine was present during some of the sexual acts,” Hammons said.

He did not disclose in the release information about the alleged victim’s identity, gender or current age, or where in Lafayette Vidrine was living when she was arrested.

“A child’s innocence is something that is very precious,” said Col. Mike Edmonson, State Police superintendent. “To think that someone robbed this child of that is incomprehensible.”
