Motorcyclist dies following Sunday collision Motorcyclist dies following Sunday collision Acadiana bureau June 12, 2013 Comments LAFAYETTE — A Lafayette motorcyclist who crashed into another motorcycle south of Duson over the weekend died Monday from his injuries, State Police said. James Feazell, 32, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition Saturday after the accident at 3:45 p.m. on La. 720 west of La. 343, State Police Troop I said in a release Tuesday. Investigators determined that Feazell, who was on a 2006 Suzuki, tried to pass to the right of another motorcycle rider, Daniel Fontenot, 30, of Lafayette, when the two collided, the release said. Fontenot was not hurt, but Feazell was thrown from his bike and received serious injuries. Both riders were wearing helmets, the release stated. “Troopers suspect impairment was a factor,” and toxicology samples will be sent to the State Police Crime Lab, according to the release. The accident remains under investigation.
