LAFAYETTE — Country music superstar Darius Rucker will take the stage in Lafayette for the Miles Perret Cancer Services fall benefit concert scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at Parc International downtown.
General admission tickets priced at $90 are on sale on the nonprofit agency’s website at http://milesperret.org or by visiting the agency’s offices at 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road, Suite 200, Lafayette. Ticket price includes Cajun cuisine, beer and wine.
The event is sponsored by Superior Energy Services.
Rucker, who found fame in the ’90s as frontman for the pop band Hootie and the Blowfish, found new fans since the release of his first country album, “Learn to Live,” in 2008. His new album, “True Believers,” is this week’s top-selling country album on the Billboard charts.
The past two benefit concerts also boasted country music superstars: Clint Black in 2009 and Randy Travis in 2011. Combined, the concerts raised more than $400,000 to provide programs and services at no charge to cancer patients and their families.
