LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette team that designed and built the BeauSoleil Louisiana Solar Home will hold a five-year reunion celebration, and the public is invited to attend to learn more about the project and its effect on home building in the state.
The free reunion will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Fletcher Hall, room 134.
In 2008, the team began the project to compete in the 2009 U.S. Department of Education’s Solar Decathlon, an international collegiate competition. Students competed against 19 teams and won the market viability portion of the contest and the People’s Choice Award.
The roundtable discussion will feature team members, faculty, administration and community advisers. Following the discussion, tours of the BeauSoleil Home will be given from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The house is adjacent to Fletcher Hall.
