Acadiana bureau Feb. 13, 2013 Comments LAFAYETTE — University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Krewe of Roux rolled through campus Thursday afternoon. The parade is a tradition that started more than 25 years ago. Campus royalty nominated by students and campus organizations walk or ride in the parade. More Mardi Gras parades are in store for local revelers. Below is the schedule for parades in Lafayette Parish scheduled Friday through Tuesday: FRIDAY: Friday Night Parade, featuring numerous male krewes, 6:30 p.m. SATURDAY: Youngsville Parade, 11 a.m.; Children’s Parade, 12:30 p.m., with an abbreviated route that starts at the federal courthouse and ends at Cajun Field; Krewe of Bonaparte Parade, 6:30 p.m. MONDAY: Queen Evangeline’s Parade, 6 p.m. TUESDAY: King Gabriel’s Parade, 10 a.m.; Lafayette Mardi Gras Festival Parade, 1 p.m.; KADN/KLAF Independent Parade, 2 p.m.
