Single-car wreck kills 2 in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE — Two people were killed Friday in a single-vehicle accident in the 2600 block of Verot School Road.

The driver, Donna “Andre” Theall, 43, of Lafayette, and the only passenger, Richard Broussard, 57, of Lafayette, both died when their car left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a telephone pole and sign about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, according to a news release from Lafayette police.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, police said.
