Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana will hold its annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser Saturday at Acadiana Lanes on Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette.
Participants are asked to form five-member teams, and each team member is expected to raise donations of at least $40 ($25 for students).
Proceeds benefit the local mentor programs of Bigs Brothers Big Sisters.

Tourism chief
The Lafayette Convention and Visitors Bureau has formed a search committee to select a new director following Executive Director Gerald Breaux’s announcement he will retire in June after three decades in the position.
LCVB said in a news release the search committee is developing the process for choosing Breaux’s replacement and job listings will be posted soon with the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association and the Louisiana Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus.
Jeanerette barbecue
The Jeanerette Historic Preservation Foundation will hold a barbecue chicken fundraiser March 11.
Tickets are $8 and are available at the Ward 8 Recreation Center and the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce.
The dinners may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 11 at 1503 Main St., Jeanerette.

Concert for students
The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana will present a performance of the youth chamber orchestra A Far Cry at 9 a.m. March 8 in the Lafayette High School auditorium.
Admission is open to middle school and high school students.

Junior League cookbooks
The Junior League of Lafayette is relaunching three “Talk About Good” series of cookbooks with new cover designs at a March 7 event at Trynd in downtown Lafayette.
The group is unveiling updated covers for “Talk About Good!,” “Talk About Good II” and “Tell Me More.”
Tickets are $20, which includes a free cookbook from the newly designed series.
