PASA presents string ensemble A Far Cry
LAFAYETTE -- The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana’s presentation of A Far Cry, the 17-piece string ensemble, March 8 will also feature special daytime performances for students and senior citizens.
The ensemble of “rising string virtuosos” will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
The group will also perform at 9 a.m. for students at Lafayette High’s auditorium. Student tickets are $7 and advance registration is required. Teachers and principals may register for the student performance by calling (337) 237-2787, ext. 201.
PASA will present a quartet from A Far Cry in a free “PASA Plus” performance at the Rosehouse Senior Center, 120 Statesman Drive, at 1:30 p.m. that day. Registration for the Rosehouse performance is required and limited. Call (337) 237-2787, ext. 206, to register.
Prior to the group’s evening performance, those planning to attend the concert are invited to attend a “Creative Conversation” led by Michael Blaney, director of orchestral studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the Heymann mezzanine.
Tickets for the evening performance are $28 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Heymann Box Office.
At the evening event, donations to PASA’s “Play It Again” musical instrument recycling drive will be accepted.
