ULL unveils new band uniform
LAFAYETTE — The Pride of Acadiana Marching Band unveiled its new uniform Tuesday.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s marching band asked the public to select in an online poll their favorite pick to replace the band’s 12-year-old red and black uniforms. More than 5,200 people logged their choice online.
The new uniforms will be ready for the Ragin’ Cajuns football season in the fall semester. The band is also scheduled to perform in the nationally televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Band members are selling Pride of Acadiana gear — T-shirts, sweatshirts and other clothing — to help raise money for the trip. Cost per band member is estimated at $1,500.
