Crowley man killed during Monday shootout with Crowley police, State Police report

Crowley police officers responding to a domestic disturbance Monday shot and killed a man who fired shots from inside a home, officials said.

State Police detectives were called around 1 p.m. to look into an incident that occurred less than an hour before, Troop I Master Trooper Brooks David said.

David said a man inside the home fired a number of times as Crowley police arrived. The Crowley officers returned gunfire, killing the man, he said.

David said he did not know exactly when Crowley police arrived at the home, and did not know the dead man’s name or age. David said more information could be released later.

Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said in an email that all comments in the case would come from State Police.
