Lafayette Police Department detectives are looking for three armed men who jumped the counter at a convenience store Thursday night and robbed money from the cash register.

Officers responded at 10:40 p.m. Thursday to the 2100 block of Kaliste Saloom Road after employees reported three teens with slim builds and wearing ski masks entered the store armed with handguns, Cpl. Paul Mouton said in a news release.

Store employees reported that the teens were 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall.

Anyone with information about the robbery to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

Contraband found in St. Mary Parish jail

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies found a SIM card, a cell phone and a substances believed to be synthetic marijuana while conducting a regular search of the parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on Wednesday.

KATC-TV reports that three inmates face additional charges of possession of contraband in a penal institution. They are:

Fernando Ariano, 34, Morgan City, possession of a SIM card.

Ronnie Jones, 26, Bayou Vista, possession of a small bag of suspected synthetic marijuana.

Murray Bridget, 35, Patterson, possession of a cell phone.
