A Crowley man considered armed and dangerous is wanted in a Saturday shooting that left one man dead, officials said.

Damaris Harmon, 21, is suspected of breaking into a residence in the 1000 block of West Seventh Street in Crowley and shooting Kenneth Drake. Harmon is now wanted in the first-degree murder of Drake, Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said.

Gibson described Harmon as a black man, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He has short hair, and his last known address was 415 W. Andrus Drive, Crowley.

“This was not a random act as our investigation shows that Harmon entered the residence with force and sought the victim in the residence,” Gibson said in a news release.

Harmon fled in a dark colored SUV.

“Harmon should be considered armed and dangerous,” Gibson said.

Anyone with information may call Crowley police at (337) 783-1234 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at (337) 789-TIPS. All callers remain anonymous and could receive $1,000 in a reward.

One held in attempted murder after argument

LAFAYETTE — A Lafayette man was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder over the weekend in a shooting Saturday that injured one person.

Terrence Celestine, 27, turned himself in to Lafayette police Sunday, Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Celestine and the victim were arguing in the 100 block of Delahoussaye Drive when Celestine pulled a handgun and shot the victim twice, Mouton said in a news release.

The victim, who was not identified, was in guarded condition Monday in a Lafayette hospital. There were no other injuries in the incident, Mouton said.

Celestine was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center where he remained Monday on $150,000 bail.

Two men arrested in Acadia Parish shooting

RAYNE — Acadia Parish authorities arrested two men in the Friday morning shooting that left one man with a bullet wound to his face after an argument at a Scott nightclub, officials said.

The Friday fight started at Cowboy’s Night Club in Scott and ended with the shooting around 3 a.m. on Tanner Road near Rayne in Acadia Parish. Trahan said the altercation involved people in three vehicles.
