Lafayette man arrested in Saturday shooting

A Lafayette man was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder over the weekend in a shooting Saturday that injured one person.

Terrence Celestine, 27, turned himself in to Lafayette police Sunday, Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Celestine and the victim were arguing in the 100 block of Delahoussaye Drive when Celestine pulled a handgun and shot the victim twice, Mouton said in a news release.

The victim, who was not identified, was in guarded condition Monday in a Lafayette hospital. There were no other injuries in the incident, Mouton said.

Celestine was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, where he remained Monday on $150,000 bail.
