Lafayette convenience store robbed by two armed men

Two men with handguns demanded money early Tuesday from a clerk at a West Gloria Switch Road convenience store then fled a short time later with cash, officials said.

The robbery occurred in the 100 block of West Gloria Switch at about 12:30 a.m., Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

No one was injured.

An employee described the assailants to police as two black men. One of them had a tan cloth wrapped around his head and wore a long-sleeve white T-shirt, light-gray sweat pants and white shoes, Mouton said.

The other covered his head with a white cloth and a baseball cap, and wore black pants and a red T-shirt with the numeral 1 printed on the back, he said.

Anyone with information may call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
