Baton Rouge LGBT Pride Day set Saturday

Baton Rouge Pride, a daylong LGBT festival, is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino Atrium.

An Equality March from the casino to the State Capitol will follow immediately after the festival from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Events for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender event include the Blessing of Relationships, which in 2013 featured two pastors blessing two to three dozen couples.

The festival also features musical performances, including Daphne MuShatt and The Shiz, The Krewe of Divas, Princess Kutt and Shawn Thomas.

There also will be an acknowledgement of the “oldest” and “newest” relationships.
