Row over husband’s drinking leads to Scott woman’s arrest Row over husband’s drinking leads to Scott woman’s arrest Advocate staff report June 12, 2014 Comments SCOTT — A man who drew his wife’s ire after getting drunk was sitting outside his Anna Street house when police arrived early Thursday, holding a towel to his bleeding head after he received a bashing, officials said. Doris Leday, 58, was booked into the parish jail on one count of domestic abuse battery. Leday is accused of grabbing a glass picture frame and breaking it over her husband’s head, Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said in news release. Police were called to the house at 1:20 a.m. to a domestic fight that was ongoing. Officers found Leday’s husband, who was not identified in the release, bleeding outside. The man told officers he and his wife got into a fight “regarding the victim’s state of intoxication, which drove Ms. Leday to the point of striking her common law husband in the head,” Leger said. Leday was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, where bond was set at $500.
