Deontei Fuselier, 15, of Lafayette was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on La. 357 in Opelousas, according to State Police. State Police said Fuselier and three passengers, none wearing seat belts, were thrown from the vehicle. Two of the passengers were treated for moderate injuries, and a third was listed in critical condition, State Police said. Fuselier was spotted by Opelousas police driving the wrong way on U.S. 190 about 4 a.m. Tuesday, and officers pursued him after he refused to stop, State Police said.
