PLANTATION TOUR: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Magnolia Mound Plantation, 2161 Nicholson Drive. Magnolia Mound Plantation is a survivor of the vernacular architecture influenced by early settlers from France and the West Indies. Admission is $10; $8 seniors and students; $4 children 5 to 17.

CREATING FUN WITH CHEMISTRY: 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., Louisiana Art and Science Museum, 100 S. River Road. Hands-on chemistry workshops for children ages 6 to 12 with parent or caregiver. Children will be taught the key role emulsifiers play in a popular body product and apply the knowledge by mixing their own hand lotion.
