Center for La. Studies names new fellows

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Center for Louisiana Studies recently named the following university scholars as its new fellows for the 2014-19 term:

Fellows include Conni Castille, Center for Moving Image Arts; Robert Gramling, Center for Socioeconomic Research; Charles E. Richard, Center for Moving Image Arts; Kari Smith, School of Architecture and Design; and Mary Ann Wilson, Department of English.

The fellows were selected in recognition of their commitments to research, teaching and promotion of Louisiana studies.

They work closely with center staff on research projects and publications and make contributions to the center’s archival collections.

Baccalaureate Mass set for spring graduates

University of Louisiana at Lafayette spring 2014 graduates are invited to a Baccalaureate Mass at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church, 501 E. St. Mary Blvd.

All spring graduates are invited to attend and wear their cap and gown for the special Mass of thanksgiving.

A wine and cheese reception will follow the Mass in the Catholic Student Center’s CafĂ©. Faculty, family and friends also are invited to attend. Parking is available at the Earl K. Long Gym parking lot on Girard Park Circle.
