COMMUNITY EVENTS

  • SPRING DANCE CONCERT: 9 a.m., Shaver Theatre, LSU campus. The concert will feature artistic collaborations among LSU’s dance, music and engineering programs. Tickets are $18 for the general public, $15 for seniors/faculty/staff and $12 for students.
  • MOMS AND MILESTONES: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., USS KIDD Museum Theatre, 305 South River Road. Families can make memories. Visitors are encouraged to dress as their favorite “Star Wars” character for Star Wars Day. Admission is free.
  • REFLECTIONS IN THE GARDEN — RED STICK SPICE: Noon to 1 p.m., Burden Center, 4560 Essen Lane. The Burden Horticulture Society will meet to discuss the use of spices in cooking. (225) 763-3990.
  • GLOBAL COMMUNITY DAY: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., North Boulevard Town Square, downtown.
  • SUNDAY IN THE PARK: 2 p.m., North Boulevard Town Square, downtown.
  • FIESTA FAVORITES: 2 p.m., Williams-Sonoma, Mall of Louisiana, 6401 Bluebonnet Blvd. Learn how to make fajitas, salsa, margarita pie and skinny margaritas. Reservations are encouraged. (225) 757-0016.
  • SOUNDS OF COMMUNITY CONCERT: 4 p.m., Wesley United Methodist Church, 544 Government St. Admission is free. Donations are accepted.
