Laura Soileau, of Postlethwaite & Netterville APAC, has been named one of 20 “Emerging Leaders” by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Soileau is an associate director in the firm’s consulting services group and leader for the control and risk advisory practice area.

Soileau is featured in IIA’s Internal Auditor magazine’s April cover story, “Taking the Lead,” which identifies individuals in the internal audit community who have become leaders in the profession through their quality work and innovative thinking.

REBECCA ARCENEAUX WAS NAMED RECIPIENT OF THE 2014 PARALEGAL OF THE YEAR AWARD BY THE BATON ROUGE PARALEGAL ASSOCIATION.

She is a paralegal at Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP.

LUCILLE POINTER, A NATIVE OF BAKER, HAS BEEN AWARDED THE AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION’S COLLEGIATE DIVISION LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

Pointer is associate professor and chairwoman of the Marketing and Business Administration Department at the University of Houston-Downtown.

NEW ORLEANS AREA

Nine employees of Orleans Parish Assessor Erroll Williams’ office have earned the Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor designation from the Louisiana Assessors Association. They are Brent Ardeneaux, Albert Coman, Jacquelyn Frick, Keith Lavigne, Aisha Malvoisin, David A. Mejia, James Miketa, Lisa Ross and Thomas Sandoz. Seven employees were recertified.

The 2014 Louisiana Culture Award winners have been announced by Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne.

Winners from the local area are: Cultural District Award to the Downtown Lafayette Cultural District; Arts Leadership Award to Kris Cangelosi, of Baton Rouge; Culinary Arts Award to Reconcile New Orleans; Artist of the Year Award to Wayne Amedee, of New Orleans; Folklife Heritage Award to Goldman Thibodeaux, of Opelousas; Archaeologist of the Year Award to R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, of New Orleans; Main Street Award to St. Claude Main Street, of New Orleans; Preservation Education Award to J. Randolph Harelson, of New Roads; Preservation Heritage Award to Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans; Lt. Governor’s Passion for Culture Award to Kathe Hambrick, of Donaldsonville; and the George Rodrigue Lifetime Cultural Achievement Award to Sue Turner, of Baton Rouge.
