Man arrested, accused of standing naked in doorway as children walked by

A 28-year-old Lafayette Parish man was arrested Wednesday on allegations he stood nude in his doorway in full view of school children walking to a bus stop.

Scott Hawthorne was arrested after a 10-day investigation and booked on six counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Capt. Kip Judice said in a release.

Hawthorne was arrested at his home on Common Pointe Drive in a subdivision located between Scott and Carencro, Judice said.

The children reported the incident to school officials, who contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Judice said detectives’ investigation showed Hawthorne has exposed himself to children and females before.

The alleged victims told detectives that Hawthorne, while naked, would call out to them as they walked by, Judice said.

Hawthorne is being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on $150,000 bond.
